12/30/2015

The weather is looking great for the 1st weekend of Ski Tigers.

The 1st Youth Program event for this season is on Saturday January 2nd at the Swedetown Ski Trails in Calumet at 11:00am.

Be ready to ski at 11:00am so we can get started and the kiddos & parents aren't standing around in the cold.

Check out the calendar for more details on the rest of the season and Trail Maps for directions to all the trail heads.

Kilometer Club
Also, right now is a great time to get started recording all the kilometers your skiers put on this year and we'll reward them at the end of season picnic in the snow.  Check out Kilometer Club for more details and how to track your kilometers online at http://www.kmtracker.org/.

2016 US Cross Country Championship
There is also a great opportunity to see world class skiers right here in the Copper Country with the 2016 US Cross Country Championship on Jan 3-9 at the Tech Trails.

Equipment
If you are still looking for equipment, please review the Equipment Basics page contact Jon Stone (jcstone@mtu.edu) as Ski Tigers has some equipment available for skiers.

Don't forget to track your kilometers!

Now that the snow is falling and trail conditions are improving, don't forget to keep track of the kilometers you ski this winter! Ski Tigers can win medals and candy bars for skiing the most kilometers in their color group.

There are several ways to track your kilometers this winter:

  • Paper log sheet 2015-16
  • Kilometer Adder Website - keep track of kilometers online (Ski Tigers only)
  • Nordic Rocks - keep track of kilometers online (nation-wide, created by CXC)

More information is available on the Kilometer Club page.

Our 2nd Race Team advisory committee meeting will be Monday December 14th @ 7 PM at the Nara Chalet.

The Race Team Advisory Committee is composed of team members (past and present), parents, and coaches.  The purpose of the committee is to provide advice, coordination, and support to both the Devo and Comp teams.  The meeting will be short and will be a chance to meet our new Devo coach, go over logistics for the season, and answer any questions you may have.  Everyone is welcome!

Hope to see you there,

Peggy
