Cost: Free to Ski Tigers, $10 for non club members and open to the public.
Registration: Once registration opens, skiers MUST register online before Wednesday March 7, 2024.

About the Jr. Bear Chase ski race
This event is hosted at the Great Bear Chase Ski Race stadium located on the Swedetown Trails. The race is coordinated and led by the Ski Tigers Youth Program and although the event is not officially part of the Great Bear Chase event, the Jr. Bear Chase is heavily supported by the Great Bear Chase who provides in-kind community support, materials and use of the race stadium. We thank the Great Bear Chase for their commitment to support youth skiing in the Copper Country!

Race Registration
All skiers must register for the event. There is no registration fee for Copper Country Ski Tiger Club members.
There is a $10 registration fee for skiers who are not members of the Copper Country Ski Tiger Club. Fees can be processed using PayPal or by check prior to the event.
We will not accept signups at the event, all registration must be completed online at the link below.

Race stadium
This year’s event will be held at the Great Bear Chase Ski Race Stadium, off of Spruce St. in Calumet, on the Friday before the Great Bear Chase ski race, March 9, 2024 between ~4:30-6pm. The course for the Junior Bear Chase is 2km long, the 4km race goes around the course twice. See course map below!

Follow the signs for the Great Bear Chase race event and park in the plowed lot across from the race entry.

Skiers are invited to enter the race that suits their interests and abilities. Age recommendations are provided below.
These are the only races:
- 1km Classic ski race (recommended for beginner skiers, green and gray group (age 3-8))
- 2km Classic ski race (recommended for intermediate skiers, blue and purple group (age 8-10))
- 2km Freestyle (suggested for skate skiers, and classic skiers with endurance, age 10+)
- 4km Freestyle (suggested for skiers looking for a challenge, age 10+)

- Bib Pick-up will open at 4:30pm and closes at 5:00pm
- 5:10pm - 4km Freestyle (suggested for skiers looking for a challenge, age 10+)
- 5:15pm - 2km Classic ski race (recommended for intermediate skiers, blue and purple group (age 8-10))
- 5:20pm - 2km Freestyle (suggested for skate skiers, and classic skiers with endurance, age 10+)
- 5:25pm - 1km Classic ski race (recommended for beginner skiers, green and gray group (age 3-8))
- Awards ** after results are tallied, ~6pm

Awards
- Top awards will be given out only to the 1st and 2nd place finishers in the male and female skier category for each race.
- All skiers will receive a participant prize.
- Race awards will begin once results are tallied and after 6pm ET.
- All race results will be posted after the event and sent to registered skiers.
