FAQ
When are Master’s Team practices?
Practice is currently held at the MTU Trailhead from 6-7:30pm on
Tuesdays and Thursday evenings. A Saturday practice also happens from
1-3pm w/ at a rotation of locations (MTU, Swedetown, Maasto Hiinto)
Skate or Classic?
Whichever you prefer for that particular training session
Is there a coach for the Team?
There is no official coach, but rather a roster of volunteer Team Captains
that will lead the training sessions. If there is no Captain at a practice,
athletes in attendance can appoint one and that person can act as an
executive decision maker for that practice
What does “practice” look like?
Each practice will start with Team Members gathering and departing a
short warm-up together (about 15 minutes). The Captain will then lay out
some type of technique drill for everyone to participate in for another 15
minutes. The final 60-90 minutes is then spent skiing a training session of
either distance or, for some, intensity intervals.
How do I know if I am good enough to ski with this Team?
The Team is loosely split into two groups: the B Team is for Blasters who
want to train hard and ski far and fast. The D Team is for Developing
athletes who are here to improve their skiing technique and fitness. After
drills, the two groups can self-select and split off from one another to ski
how they prefer. Even if you ski with one group at one practice, you are
welcome to ski with another at a different practice. All are welcome.
