This weekend the Copper Country Ski Tigers traveled to Duluth, MN for the CXC Junior and Youth Cup season opener. Even with the cold temperatures the racers represented the Ski Tigers well with Joe Wood placing 17th and Michael Fraley 72nd in the Men's 10KM freestyle. In the women's 7.5KM freestyle, Autumn Eles came in 35th while Marielle Raasio placed 51st.
In the 5KM Boy's freestyle, Cyrus Hamlin came in 10th while the Girls 5Km freestyle saw Ingrid Seagren in 18th place, Sage Resh-Chimner in 22nd, and Jaden Serafin placed 25th.
In the 3KM freestyle race Robin Kisiel was 7th for the girls
On Sunday's Classic sprints Joe Wood and Michael Fraley placed 31st and 53rd, respectively. In the corresponding Women's race, Autumn Eles took 39th and Marielle Raasio came in 47th.
For the Boy's and Girls 16 and under classic sprints Cyrus Hamlin and Ingrid Seagren reached the semi-finals and ended in 16th and 17th place in their individual races. Sage Resh-Chimner and Jaden Serafin came in at 19th and 29th respectively.
In the Boy's and Girl's 14 and under sprints, Auggie Hamlin came in 11th and Robin Kisiel came in 5th in their races.
Over all the Copper Country Ski Tigers did very well at their first race of the season. They will race at MTU next weekend in the Pre-US Nationals CXC Cup Qualifier.
