Ski Tigers State Champs

The Copper Country Ski Tigers won the overall Michigan State High School Cross Country Ski Championship title at the Al Quaal Recreation Area in Ishpeming, Michigan this weekend. Ski Tigers Mitchell Delong and Matthew Chard led the victory with a solid first and second places in both the Pursuit and the Classic Relays races. The Ski Tigers took third overall in the girls division and first in the boys.

Congratulations Ski Tigers on the overall championship! This is my second year on the race circuit as a parent (Mary Lyon) and I'm so impressed with the quality of participants and the parents (who are maybe just too cold to be anything but nice and respectful). Nordic families are the best in my opinion. Thanks for the great competition. Looking forward to seeing GLD race in Telemark next month.
