About The Copper Country Ski Tigers
For more than three decades, the Copper Country Ski Tigers have been inspiring young people throughout the Keweenaw and Copper Country region through the sport of Nordic skiing. Founded by local ski enthusiasts who wanted to share their passion for cross-country skiing with youth, the Ski Tigers began as a grassroots effort to create opportunities for children to learn, grow, and develop a lifelong connection to the outdoors.
Today, the Copper Country Ski Tigers are a thriving Nordic ski community that welcomes skiers of all ages and abilities. Our youth programs introduce new skiers to the fundamentals of cross-country skiing while providing experienced athletes with opportunities to develop their skills, compete, and pursue their goals. Through quality coaching, mentorship, and a supportive team environment, we help young skiers build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and a lasting appreciation for the sport.
The success of the Ski Tigers is built on the dedication of coaches, volunteers, families, donors, and community partners who share a commitment to making Nordic skiing accessible and rewarding for everyone. Beyond developing competitive athletes, we strive to create a welcoming community where skiers can find friendship, challenge themselves, and experience the physical and personal benefits of being active outdoors.
As we look toward the future, the Copper Country Ski Tigers remain committed to growing the sport of Nordic skiing in our region and inspiring the next generation of skiers—on the trails, in competition, and throughout life.
